We’re hiring a software engineer in Manchester to build and ship core product features for a growing SaaS platform. What You Will Be Doing

  • Build and maintain backend services in Python or Node.js
  • Write and review clean, testable code across the codebase
  • Work with PostgreSQL and other databases in production
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers using React or similar frameworks
  • Deploy and monitor services using Docker and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
  • Design and improve APIs for internal and external use
  • Troubleshoot production issues and tune performance
  • Contribute to planning and prioritising features with the product team

Requirements

Must Have
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong experience with at least one backend language (Python, Node.js, Java, or Go)
  • Comfort with SQL and web‑application patterns (REST, authentication, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD workflows
  • Ability to work independently and explain your code clearly
Nice to Have
  • Experience with React or a modern frontend framework
  • Exposure to cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container tools
  • Experience writing unit/integration tests and using monitoring tools
  • Prior work in SaaS, fintech, or similar product‑driven environments

Salary Table

  • Junior: 0–2 years — £38,000 – £48,000
  • Mid‑Level: 2–5 years — £52,000 – £70,000
  • Senior: 5+ years — £70,000 – £90,000+
