About the Role
We’re hiring a software engineer in Manchester to build and ship core product features for a growing SaaS platform. What You Will Be Doing
- Build and maintain backend services in Python or Node.js
- Write and review clean, testable code across the codebase
- Work with PostgreSQL and other databases in production
- Collaborate with frontend engineers using React or similar frameworks
- Deploy and monitor services using Docker and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
- Design and improve APIs for internal and external use
- Troubleshoot production issues and tune performance
- Contribute to planning and prioritising features with the product team
Requirements
Must Have- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience with at least one backend language (Python, Node.js, Java, or Go)
- Comfort with SQL and web‑application patterns (REST, authentication, etc.)
- Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD workflows
- Ability to work independently and explain your code clearly
- Experience with React or a modern frontend framework
- Exposure to cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container tools
- Experience writing unit/integration tests and using monitoring tools
- Prior work in SaaS, fintech, or similar product‑driven environments
Salary Table
- Junior: 0–2 years — £38,000 – £48,000
- Mid‑Level: 2–5 years — £52,000 – £70,000
- Senior: 5+ years — £70,000 – £90,000+
