WhatIf.ai is an accelerator-backed startup building foundational infrastructure for interactive storytelling experiences. The company’s rights-aware AI sandbox enables creators, gaming studios, and brands to launch official, interactive lore environments for their communities. The company is backed by the Loughborough University Startup Fund (LUinc), providing a strong platform for innovation and growth.

We are bypassing expensive ad networks completely. Our growth strategy relies on dropping our custom, interactive AI matchup tools directly into existing, highly passionate communities — anime, webtoons, TTRPG, manga, and gaming fanbases. We need someone who is already in. Not someone who can theoretically learn how to do this, but someone who already has relationships with server owners, admins, and mods in these spaces — or has personally run or moderated large communities before. This is not a cold-outreach role. This is a “you already speak this language” role.

What You Get:

  • Potential for equity and performance-based compensation - Milestone-based equity shares tied directly to successful server integrations and user traffic targets you personally drive.
  • Product Shaping Rights — Work hand-in-hand with our CTO to design the features, bot commands, and integration parameters your communities are actively asking for.
  • Real Founding-Team Experience — Build a verifiable case study of community-driven growth at an early-stage AI startup, with direct access to founders and real decision‑making influence — not busywork.

What We Need From You:

  • Proven, current access to or relationships within major Discord servers or subreddits in anime, gaming, manga, webtoons, or TTRPG niches — you either moderate these communities, are known and trusted within them, or have a track record of getting products/tools adopted by server admins before.
  • Comfort approaching server owners directly and pitching something new — you've done this before, this isn't your first time.
  • A genuine understanding of fandom culture — you know what makes a community engage, what gets you banned, and what earns trust.
  • Self-driven — we are not micromanaging this role. You'll be given the mission and the product, and trusted to find the wedge.

Bonus (not required, but tell us if you have it):

  • Experience running Discord bots or community tools.
  • A track record in a specific niche (One Piece, Genshin, SCP, D&D, VTuber communities, etc.).
  • Existing relationships with creators or server owners you could introduce us to.
