We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior General Ledger Accountant to oversee and execute end-to-end general ledger accounting activities across multiple EMEA entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting in line with IFRS/US GAAP and local statutory requirements.

In this role, you will lead key aspects of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes (including accruals, prepayments, payroll, and reconciliations), support regional and group reporting, and provide oversight on statutory financial statements and variance analysis. You will also ensure strong SOX compliance, act as a key contact for internal and external audits, and collaborate closely with FP&A, Payroll, Tax, and Legal teams.

Playing an active role in driving process improvement initiatives and best practices through leverage of technology and effective collaboration/communication to enhance efficiency and scalability across the region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support month-end close activities in accordance with reporting timelines, including review of trial balances.
  • Process accruals, prepayments, payroll, and other journal entries for multiple entities across Europe.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Lead preparation of statutory financial statements and provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Payroll, Tax, Cash, Accounts Payable, and other finance and operations teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Support in other ad-hoc projects and activities within finance and operations team.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • Previous experience in a similar finance/accounting role, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and fair understanding of general ledger applications (SAP experience a plus).
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) in English; Italian speaking is a plus.
  • Accounting, finance, business or economics education/experience/qualification.
  • Results orientated, flexible, resourceful, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong time-management skills, ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Team player and customer service orientated attitude.
  • Organized, detail oriented and disciplined in follow through and completion.
