We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental and Sustainability Manager to promote a positive environmental culture across Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS). This role plays a key part in supporting and developing our Sustainability Strategy, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation and its supply chain.
You will act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance across the business, monitoring environmental performance, and ensuring NTS meets industry, stakeholder, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and ongoing review of the NTS Sustainability Strategy, Carbon Management Plan, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) performance
- Ensure environmental processes and procedures meet required standards and compliance obligations
- Support the development and tracking of the environmental audit schedule
- Deliver environmental awareness training across the business
- Undertake auditing and assurance activities to ensure compliance by NTS employees, contractors, and supply chain partners
- Monitor and track corrective actions, ensuring timely and effective close-out
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the NTS Management System
- Provide advice and support to managers and functional leads on environmental matters
- Represent the Nuclear & Assurance function in meetings with customers, regulators, and professional bodies
- Communicate environmental performance, risks, and key topics across the organisation
- Maintain awareness of good practice within the nuclear rail and shipping industries
- Degree in an environmental-related discipline
- Practitioner Membership of IEMA (or working towards)
- Strong knowledge and experience of ISO 14001 requirements (essential)
- Ability to build effective working relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders (essential)
- Experience in environmental auditing and assurance activities (desirable)
- Knowledge of investigation techniques, including root cause analysis (desirable)
- Ability to analyse data and identify trends to drive performance improvements (desirable)
- Experience in improving processes and driving environmental performance (desirable)
You will be a confident and credible environmental professional, able to influence and engage across all levels of the organisation. You will bring a collaborative approach, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
