Technical Services Manager - Building Services (New Bailey, Manchester, United Kingdom) Why this job matters The Property & Facilities Services team are accountable for all aspects of the BT Global property portfolio which includes offices, operational exchanges, data centres, depots and specialist buildings. The portfolio extends to over 8,500 properties across the globe and we provide workplace facilities services to circa 100,000 colleagues globally. This role will be accountable for ensuring that property asset investment decisions are technically and commercially sound which will support the business in ensuring continued delivery of its products and services. What you’ll be doing Responsible for building assets maintenance, repair and investment programmes across the BT workplace estate circa 7500 buildings including office, telephone exchanges and data centres. Accountable for investment plans that maintain a resilient, safe and functioning BT workplace (powered assets). Ensuring our investment in the BT workplace is sustainable and aligns with our decarbonisation strategy. Producing and maintaining a suite of design specifications and standards. Managing the outsourced partner infrastructure survey schedules and reporting cycles. Subject matter expertise in M&E and building fabric asset maintenance and investment principles Execution of the property plans and transactions including asset acquisitions and disposals. Support property projects including assistance with the procurement of professional services, construction, fixtures and equipment. Liaise with departmental representatives to support all relocations and management of relocation services. You'll have the following skills and experience Experienced in building services with a strong awareness of M&E and Fabric systems to enable the business to make informed decisions about investments across the estate Understanding of prioritsation of risk which would help me to support in the decisions to invest Life cycle replacement experience Managing planned and reactive maintenance Understanding of standards and guidance including, but not limited to, British Standards, CIBSE, Fire Safety Regulations, CDM, WELL and FGAS.
