We have an exciting opportunity to join us at Cova Insurance as a Senior Motor Trade Underwriter within our Commercial Lines Team. This role plays a key part in the profitable development of the Midlands, North and Scotland region, as well as our wider Mid-Market portfolio. You'll have the opportunity to use your expertise to underwrite new business, support existing portfolios and build meaningful, long-term relationships with our broker partners.

We're looking for someone who brings solid Motor Trade underwriting experience and enjoys working collaboratively with brokers to find the right outcomes for everyone involved. This role is hybrid, offering the flexibility to work from home alongside time in our Manchester office (2 days a week).

What does a typical day look like?

  • Underwriting bespoke commercial motor trade risks in line with Cova's strategy and underwriting criteria
  • Supporting profitable growth by underwriting both new and existing business, including regular onsite underwriting at broker offices
  • Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with a panel of Mid-Market brokers
  • Keeping up to date with market developments, legislation and trends that may impact underwriting decisions
  • Working collaboratively within agreed authority limits, referring cases where appropriate
  • Supporting the development of Cova's commercial lines portfolio by strengthening existing relationships and encouraging new broker partnerships
