Job Summary: This is a good opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the Finance function within the Regional Business Unit and an appreciation of the Company’s overall business. The purpose of this role is:

  • To ensure effective, efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions in line with the Finance Manual and Operating Framework;
  • To maintain and keep up to date the Accounts Payable Ledgers in order to pay the suppliers and subcontractors within the agreed payment terms;
  • To assist the Finance Manager with the day to day delivery of the Finance Department function.

With this role there will be an opportunity to study part time at an agreed college to gain an HND in Accounting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase ledger invoices
  • Process supplier invoices accurately and timely
  • Proactively resolve any invoice discrepancies with the appropriate business function
  • Prepare and process the approved payment run
  • Check and process employee expenses
  • Request new accounts in line with Company procedures
  • Reconcile supplier statements monthly and resolve queries promptly
  • Request missing information where required
  • Preparation of month-end reports and reconciliations
  • Prepare and Process month end journals
  • Prepare monthly sales and overhead analysis reports
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for sales and purchase ledger control accounts
  • Process weekly timesheets
  • Process travel and fares
  • Manage ad hoc payroll queries
  • Create weekly reports and distribute as required to internal resources
  • Prepare production of daily cash flow forecast for Head Office
  • Prepare and process weekly Bankline payments
  • Ensure payment requests have the appropriate authorisation prior to payment
  • Liaise with sales to make sure the completion statements are accurate and issued to customers in a timely fashion
  • Assist with fortnightly subcontract payments
  • Provide holiday cover within the department as required
  • Assist with the completion of any other Finance requests as required by the Finance Manager

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements:

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to set deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience of working in a busy accounts department.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
