Our mission is clear: Delivering Smarter Energy For All . As part of the UK’s journey towards its 2030 net zero target, we’re looking for Meter Readers to join our Field Operations team. In this role, you’ll travel to residential and commercial properties to take accurate utility meter readings and carry out visual inspections of metering equipment, recording all information using our company mobile app. If you enjoy driving, meeting new people, working independently, and being outdoors in all weathers — while effectively managing your own schedule and maintaining a healthy work-life balance — this could be an excellent opportunity for you. Full training will be provided, so even if you do not have prior experience, we would welcome your application. Please note: Applicants must have access to their own vehicle and either already hold basic business insurance cover or be willing to obtain it before starting the role. Location: Remote with travel throughout the postcode area that you will be coveringHours: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexible scheduling & overtime available.Salary: £24,570 per annum + achievable bonuses + Milage paid (30.5p per mile) What We’re Looking For: Qualifications Full driving licence valid for use in the UK with no more than 6 penalty points Access to a suitable personal vehicle for work-related travel Basic business insurance cover for vehicle use, or willingness to obtain this before starting Experience & Knowledge Experience in a customer-facing or public-facing role Familiarity with digital tools or mobile apps for data entry Understanding of data protection and confidentiality, including GDPR Awareness of health and safety requirements relevant to lone or field-based working Desirable: Experience in a driving-based role, preferably within the energy or utilities sector Desirable: Knowledge of the metering industry and environmental considerations related to fieldwork Desirable: Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions and managing challenging customer interactions Technical Skills Competent in using mobile applications or handheld devices Numerate, with the ability to record and verify readings accurately Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload independently Desirable: Ability to identify and report safety or technical issues with metering equipment Desirable: Understanding of GPS mapping or route planning tools Behavioural Skills Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a wider team Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and respectful manner Committed to Calisen’s values and promoting a strong health and safety culture What We Offer Annual salary review 22 days holiday plus 8
