About the role

We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to join Imperial's Transformation Portfolio Team, supporting the Great Environment Transformation Portfolio in your first assignment. This strategic portfolio brings together activity across Imperial's campuses to deliver coordinated physical and digital transformation that supports academic growth, enhances the campus experience and advances long-term organisational priorities.
Alongside transformation initiatives, the portfolio also supports projects that ensure the university's estate and infrastructure continue to meet operational needs and sustainability ambitions, including long-term capacity and carbon reduction goals.
What you would be doing
As Senior Programme Manager, you will play a leading role in delivering programmes and interdependent projects across the portfolio. You will provide strategic oversight across multiple workstreams, ensuring objectives, timelines, budgets and quality standards are achieved while aligning delivery with institutional priorities. Using structured programme and project management approaches, you will maintain effective governance, manage risks and dependencies, and drive successful outcomes across a broad range of initiatives.
Working closely with senior leaders, programme directors and project teams, you will lead planning and delivery activity across programmes, manage resource alignment, and provide clear, insightful reporting to support effective decision-making at senior levels. You will also drive stakeholder engagement, champion continuous improvement and support the realisation of programme benefits and long-term organisational impact.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with significant programme management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of teams and disciplines. You will be comfortable operating strategically while maintaining oversight of delivery detail, with experience leading large-scale change initiatives and influencing across multiple levels of an organisation.
A recognised qualification in project and/or programme management such as MSP/APM/PRINCE2 and experience delivering programmes within complex environments are essential.
