JOB DESCRIPTION Wood is recruiting for TIG Welders to join their Integrity Repair Solutions, Fabrication Facility based in Tullos, Aberdeen. These positions are full time, staff roles, Monday – Friday with a 1pm finish on a Friday! The Role The position requires Welders who have successfully completed either their apprenticeship and/or demonstrate experience of welding. You will join a team of Welders, Fabricators & Pipefitters on site ensuring all tasks are carried out to the highest safety standards while adhering to project requirements & specifications. As a Fabricator within the team, you will have good technical knowledge with the ability to complete all work scopes in line with the applicable work packs with support from your supervisor. You will attend daily toolbox talks, where the team are encouraged to share their knowledge and best practices. Local candidates preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES Typical responsibilities Marking out from approved drawings Burn out fittings using ether burning / plasma cutting techniques Make templates Prepare plate edges Machine cut thick plate bar and structural sections Produce holes by hydraulic punching machine Use heat for bending, forming and straightening plate and rolled sections Form thick plate Form rolled steel sections Use of power tools (grinders) in the preparation of materials Use of welding tools and equipment for fairing up plate QUALIFICATIONS Skills And Qualifications You may read these details and are potentially thinking about not applying due to not having every single skill, knowledge or experience listed, and that\’s understandable.
