Job Description Language Services is Avaloq’s in-house software localization, translation and language review provider and is responsible for terminology management at Avaloq. We are currently seeking an English-language localization specialist who will review the English user interfaces of several Avaloq products from a UX writing perspective, liaise with development and design teams about localization issues and act as a localization project manager for the products you are responsible for. In this position, you will also review a wide range of other text types, help manage the corporate glossary of the Avaloq group and be the main point of contact between our internal clients and our external language services providers. The ideal candidate has solid experience of software localization and is a trained translator who has diversified their skillset to flexibly adapt to the ongoing changes in our sector. Manage the English user interface text of several banking applications, editing it to ensure accurate, consistent and user-friendly language and optimizing it for translation into a range of other languages Work as part of a cross-divisional team to identify and resolve issues that prevent the software from being localized for its target markets Review publications and other text types to ensure correct grammar and spelling, language and style, consistency and coherence, and corporate terminology Maintain and update the corporate glossary and support the team with terminology coordination Occasionally translate documents into English, ensuring accurate, consistent and coherent target texts that are delivered on time Manage translation/review requests, including outsourcing to external language services providers Qualifications Excellent knowledge of English (native language) Degree in Translation (or equivalent qualification) Proven track record of translating or editing Banking and/or Financial content Experience in software localization, especially source language optimization Very good knowledge of at least one additional language (minimum B2/C1 level in German, French, Italian, Japanese and/or Arabic) Good experience in using language technology such as localization platforms, CAT and terminology management tools, authoring assistance and AI tools (Phrase Strings, memoQ / Qterm, Acrolinx, etc.) Organized, methodical and reliable person with excellent attention to detail It would be a real bonus if you have Experience with the localization platform Phrase Strings A keen interest in UX writing and software development generally Additional Information We realize that managing work life balance is a challenge we all face in our daily lives and in order to support with this we are pleased to offer hybrid and flexible working for most of our Avaloqers to maintain work life balance and still continue our fantastic Avaloq culture in our global offices.
