Rotherham Education Services (RES) supply casual and temporary staffing to the RNN Group. The RNN Group consists of Rotherham, Dearne Valley and North Notts colleges.
The Role

As an Animal Care Technician, you are the backbone of our daily operations. You aren't just "feeding and cleaning"—you are the primary observer of our residents' health and happiness. You'll ensure our facility runs like a well-oiled machine while providing the high-standard care our animals rely on.
You will be responsible for the supervision of learners during practical sessions and learners on work experience supporting tutors where necessary. You will ensure all of our animals are provided with full year-round care for all animals and any cover arrangements. This role includes both indoor and outdoor work.
You will assist the Lead Technician in managing stock control for animal and land-based resources and ensure the safe preparation and setting out of equipment and materials for practical work and demonstrations within the curriculum area. You may be required to assist these demonstrations.
Hours of work will be during weekends and covering holidays.
Have you got what it takes to be successful?
You will have experience of working within an animal establishment with a range of different species including small rodents and reptiles. You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths and have a level 3 or above animal care qualification. You should have certification (or be willing to undertake) in Emergency First Aid and Health and Safety training.
