Shape global research leadership in the UK. The University of Bath, one of only 12 UK institutions awarded UKRI's Global Talent Fund, is recruiting internationally leading Professors to help shape the future of research and innovation across four strategic priority areas. We offer exceptional institutional support, from major investment in research infrastructure to relocation assistance and opportunities to build interdisciplinary teams. About the role: This is a research-intensive role, with the expectation of significant contributions to research excellence and innovation as well as contributing to teaching within your associated Department. We are recruiting across four strategic areas:

  • Clean Energy Industries: Hydrogen and biogas fuels, energy networks, environmental economics, green finance, ethical supply chains, and behavioural change.
  • Digital and Technologies: AI and machine learning, cybersecurity, spatial intelligence, robotics, human-computer interaction, and digital transformation.
  • Life Sciences: Drug discovery, diagnostics, pain research, preventative healthcare, wearable biosensors, and public health surveillance.
  • Professional and Business Services: Retail innovation, fintech, smart logistics, digital policy, and inclusive growth.

What we’re looking for:

  • Internationally recognised research leadership within at least one of the priority areas.
  • Proven ability to secure major funding.
  • Proven track record of translating research into real-world impact.
  • Strategic vision and capacity to lead large-scale initiatives.
  • Commitment to mentoring and institutional development.

Successful applicants will be required to relocate to the UK. Bath offers a reimbursement scheme to help towards relocation and visa costs.
