The Barista is responsible for delivering an outstanding Ralphs Caf experience by preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining exceptional standards of customer service, and ensuring the caf environment is safe, clean, and welcoming. The role supports the day-to-day operation of the caf and contributes to building customer loyalty and maintaining Ralphs Caf standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

At Ralphs Caf, the Barista plays a key role in creating a vibrant and memorable customer experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and serving coffees, teas, and other beverages to Ralphs Caf standards, ensuring consistency, presentation, and quality.
  • Creating a warm, vibrant, and welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
  • Greeting customers promptly and providing excellent, friendly, and professional customer service.
  • Making recommendations to customers, answering questions, and confidently discussing menu items.
  • Coordinating beverage orders with other baristas and team members to ensure efficient and smooth service.
  • Following all company policies, procedures, audit requirements, and AP standards.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
  • Keeping the coffee bar area, equipment, and service stations clean, stocked, and organised.
  • Monitoring and maintaining hygiene and cleaning standards throughout the caf.
  • Completing and maintaining hygiene and temperature records, including fridge temperature logs and other audit documentation.
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction and responding professionally to customer feedback and concerns.
  • Building and nurturing positive relationships with customers to encourage loyalty, strengthen the Ralphs Caf reputation, and provide an exceptional caf experience.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Previous experience of 2 years as a Barista or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A friendly, positive, and approachable manner.
  • Passion for coffee, hospitality, and customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and cleaning standards.
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards and delivering a memorable Ralphs Caf experience.
