Purpose of Chef role:
To ensure the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused catering services to residents, guests, and colleagues within well-presented and maintained catering outlets. To provide effective strategic leadership and operational management of catering services ensuring compliance with current regulatory requirements. To ensure the continuous improvement and development of catering services to meet the evolving needs of all current and prospective residents and guests. To ensure that revenue and profit in all food and beverage outlets is maximised through the delivery of an innovative and creative product and service offer.
Key role responsibilities/duties for a Chef:
- To effectively lead the planning, management, and delivery of the kitchen services to ensure high-quality food service operations.
- To ensure the consistent preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality, innovative, and creative cuisine for customers incorporating their cultural and dietary needs.
- To understand the requirements of providing food to residents living within services which are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- To ensure that the catering team contributes to and takes responsibility for their role in providing excellent quality food and beverages, which meet a diverse range of needs.
- To ensure the effective management of all aspects of catering services including stock control, waste management, portion control, and the purchase of replacement or new kitchen stock in line with agreed budgets.
- To ensure that effective and cost-efficient resource planning and deployment arrangements are implemented within catering services to maintain safe and effective staffing levels at all times.
- To ensure the effective implementation of organisational policies and procedures within catering services.
- To deputise in the absence of the F&B Manager.
- To ensure that effective management information systems are maintained within catering services which comply with legislative requirements on confidentiality, accuracy, access to, and the safe and secure storage of identifiable personal data.
- To ensure that effective reporting procedures are maintained between the catering services and the F&B Manager.
Hours of work for a Chef: Zero Hour contract
Location of role for a Chef: Lynwood Retirement Village, Sunningdale, Ascot (SL5 0FG)
Salary for a Chef: £15.81 ph + Statutory Holiday Pay @ 13.54%
