Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? With over 30 years of expertise, Hutcheon Examination Services Limited (HESL) is a trusted name in engineering, examination, and testing across diverse industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, marine, energy, nuclear, oil & gas, and more.
Now part of the prestigious WH Scott Group, we\’re expanding and looking for enthusiastic, competent, and experienced Inspection Engineers to join our friendly and growing team across Berkshire, Hampshire, and Surrey.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Conducting statutory Thorough Examinations and inspections of lifting equipment, plant, access equipment, pressure systems, and local exhaust ventilation systems (LEV).
- Ensuring compliance with legislation including LOLER, PUWER 1998, PSSR 2000, and COSHH 2002.
- Travelling to customer sites to perform planned inspections across multiple sectors, with occasional national travel.
- Providing expert advice to customers on legal compliance while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Participating in internal and external audits to maintain technical standards.
- Identifying new business opportunities to support HESL\’s growth.
What You\’ll Bring
- A recognized engineering qualification (ONC / HNC / HND / EngTech / IEng / CEng).
- A strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with experience in load testing and examinations of lifting equipment, cranes, and plant.
- Familiarity with simple pressure systems (training available if needed).
- Knowledge of industry trends and health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
- A full UK driving license and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach, with a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
