My client is a leading specialist FMCG business and they are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join their rapidly expanding Head Office finance team.
This is a key role within the business, providing accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis and commercial support to help drive business performance.
You will work closely with operational and departmental managers, providing financial guidance, challenging performance and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis.
- Produce P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
- Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and post monthly journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Complete accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead and support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Prepare financial models and scenario analysis to support business planning.
- Monitor business performance against budgets and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with department managers as a finance business partner, providing financial guidance and constructive challenge.
- Translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
- Analyse revenue, costs, margins and operational performance.
- Identify opportunities for improved profitability and cost control.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and management information as required.
- Support business cases, investment appraisals and capital expenditure reviews.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities that may impact business performance.
- Review and improve financial processes, reporting systems and controls.
- Drive efficiencies through automation and process improvement.
- Support finance transformation projects and implementation of new systems.
About You
You’ll be an experienced Management Accountant with a strong understanding of management accounting, financial reporting and commercial analysis.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who have worked within a manufacturing, food manufacturing, FMCG or other operationally focused business, with business partnering and project accounting experience who understand the relationship between finance and day-to-day operations
