My client is a rapidly expanding business and they are now looking to recruit a reliable and experienced Finance Manager / Group Accountant to join their growing team in Durham City Centre.

You will manage a small finance team and will report directly to the COO and CEO overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial management for 8 small group companies, all within the same sector, on a regular basis and identify any areas in which efficiency can be improved.

Main tasks will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reconciling bank accounts and credit cards on Sage Line 50
  • Preparing annual year end accounts for all 8 companies ready for submission to an external accountant
  • Maintaining the property fixed asset registers across all companies
  • Posting of all year end journals
  • Ensuring all client and deposit accounts reconcile ready for Audit by Governing bodies
  • Allocate rental payments received to the correct tenant codes using CFP software
  • Ensuring all landlords and contractors are paid in a timely manner
  • Maintain the creditors ledgers on Sage Line 50 and ensure all suppliers are paid within the credit terms
  • Review, reconcile and post transactions from completion statements received from Company Solicitors in relation to new property purchases
  • Be the first point of contact to the accounts team and assist with any queries they may have
