My client is an international engineering business and they are now looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner / Project Accountant for a 2‑year fixed‑term contract to provide comprehensive financial support, and both statutory and MI reporting across all phases of the project delivery lifecycle. You will be based mainly at the Dorset office and may need to undertake some short‑term international travel within Europe, which can be discussed at interview to ensure it works for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce appropriate financial disciplines and controls
- Support the project team in providing accurate and timely management information
- Provide accurate forecasting and reporting to all key stakeholders, and respond to changes in the business
- Proactively work with the project and finance team to compile and manage cash flow, and identify and manage risk
- Revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 15
- Present and operate at all levels, both internally and externally
- Translate finance to non‑finance managers
- Champion finance processes and compliance to accounting practices, challenging behaviours and embedding best practice throughout the wider business
- Monitor and ensure the validity of the information available
Qualifications
You will need to have relevant accounting experience in line with the duties outlined above, and any experience in engineering and long‑term project accounting would be beneficial but not essential. You will need to be security‑cleared or be able to achieve security clearance.
