WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a Project Manager to join our Off‑Site Engineering team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This role will be based from our office in Newbridge, supporting the successful delivery of off‑site engineering projects across the UK water sector. Our Off‑Site Engineering team plays a key role in how we deliver safer, more efficient and more sustainable engineering solutions. Through modular build, off‑site fabrication and practical engineering delivery, we help clients improve quality, reduce risk and keep essential infrastructure projects moving.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of Off‑Site Engineering projects from concept through to completion, including supporting business development, leading proposal and estimate activity, developing detailed project plans, managing delivery, and ensuring projects are completed safely, commercially and to the required quality standards. You will act as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring project scope, programme, budget, risk and performance are well controlled.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of Off‑Site Engineering projects from concept, estimating and design through to manufacture, commissioning and handover.
- Develop and manage project plans covering scope, programme, resources, budget, risk, quality and stakeholder requirements.
- Manage project performance against agreed milestones, KPIs, commercial targets and client requirements, using effective reporting, governance and change control.
- Support business development and proposal activity, working with estimating, commercial and engineering teams to develop accurate, value‑led solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, internal teams and supply chain partners to keep projects moving safely, commercially and effectively.
- Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance, while supporting continuous improvement across project delivery.
Person Specification
- Demonstrable experience managing engineering or construction projects across the full project lifecycle, ideally within water, utilities, MEICA, fabrication, modular build, off‑site engineering or a related technical environment.
- Strong planning, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage scope, programme, budget, risk, quality and project performance in a controlled and practical way.
- Experience working with clients, contractors, consultants, internal teams and supply chain partners.
- Confidence leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, commercial, construction and commissioning activities.
- Background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction, fabrication, MEICA or off‑site engineering.
- Relevant construction, engineering or project management qualification at HND, degree level or equivalent experience.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Experience working with NEC forms of contract, a CSCS card and Temporary Works Co‑ordinator experience or willingness to train would be advantageous.
