WGM Engineering Ltd, part of RSK Group, has an exciting vacancy for an IT Infrastructure Analyst to join our IT team on a permanent contract based in our Glasgow office with hybrid and home-based working arrangements.
WGM Engineering delivers integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering services under one roof, providing clients with a complete turnkey offering. Since 1986, the company has helped shape major infrastructure projects across the UK while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and responsible performance.
The IT Infrastructure Analyst will support the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of WGM Engineering’s IT infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of IT systems across the organisation. The Analyst will contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring that implementations are technically sound, timely, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and endpoint devices.
- Monitor system performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Support the implementation and successful delivery of infrastructure projects, including cloud migrations, network upgrades, and security enhancements.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Assist in enforcing IT policies, procedures, and compliance standards (e.g., Cyber Essentials Plus).
- Collaborate with service desk and resolver groups to ensure timely resolution of escalated incidents.
- Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and backup/disaster recovery testing.
- Contribute to automation and service improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers to support infrastructure operation.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in a technical IT support or infrastructure analyst role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, and network domains.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and ITSM tools.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Azure cloud services.
- Working knowledge of Mobile Device Management (PCs, smartphones, tablets), LAN/WAN technologies, Cloud migration (SharePoint, Azure), and Cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., Cyber Essentials Plus).
- Degree in IT or a related discipline, or equivalent business experience.
- ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).
- Microsoft 365 Administrator certification (or equivalent experience).
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification (desirable).
- Customer-first mindset with a professional and consistent approach to IT support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
