We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team. Based at our Glasgow Head Office on a hybrid working model, this role will involve regular travel to sites across Scotland and the North of England. The purpose of the role is to ensure that WGM’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures are fully implemented and compliant with UK regulations and ISO standards. This is a site-facing position with a high level of interaction with site management and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of health, safety, environment, and quality.
  • Implement WGM and legislative HSEQ requirements across all sites.
  • Investigate incidents and compile detailed reports; analyse trends and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct safety and environmental audits, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Review and manage safety documentation, including Safety Plans, Training records, COSHH assessments, and Environmental risk assessments.
  • Develop and deliver HSEQ toolbox talks and induction materials.
  • Carry out subcontractor compliance audits and site risk assessments.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the HSE and Environment Agency when required.
  • Ensure full compliance with WGM Health & Safety policies and procedures.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Have

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a health & safety role, ideally within engineering or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable).
  • A valid UK driving licence (essential), with flexibility to travel.
