The Role
As Fabrication Production Controller – STRUMIS Specialist, you will manage and coordinate production control activities across WGM’s fabrication and off‑site engineering environment. Using STRUMIS, you will help track materials, monitor production progress, maintain accurate workshop data and support clear reporting across detailing, procurement, fabrication, project and site teams. The role will be central to improving production visibility, supporting workload planning, maintaining material traceability and helping ensure fabrication projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
What You'll Do
- Manage fabrication production control processes through STRUMIS, ensuring production data, material status and workshop information are accurate and up to date.
- Monitor fabrication progress against programme requirements, identifying delays, bottlenecks or material shortages and escalating where required.
- Coordinate production priorities with fabrication, detailing, procurement, project and site teams to support efficient delivery.
- Control and monitor material allocation, stock movements, barcode tracking and traceability processes.
- Produce production reports, KPIs and progress updates for management teams.
- Support workshop planning, workload scheduling and continuous improvement of fabrication control processes.
- Assist with quality, compliance and traceability requirements across fabrication activity.
- Support better use of STRUMIS to reduce manual reporting, improve visibility and strengthen operational and commercial control.
What You'll Bring
- Strong experience within structural steel fabrication, manufacturing, workshop production or a similar fabrication environment.
- Advanced working knowledge of STRUMIS software.
- Experience in production control, fabrication planning, workshop coordination or material tracking.
- A good understanding of fabrication workflows, production sequencing, steelwork drawings and material traceability.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and under pressure.
- Good communication and coordination skills, with confidence working across workshop, detailing, procurement, project and site teams.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- A proactive, solution‑focused approach with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
Salary and Benefits
- 32 days’ holiday, increasing to 36 days based on length of service
