WGM Engineering Ltd, part of the RSK Group, has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join our Engineered Solutions team. This permanent role is based on client sites throughout the central belt of Scotland, supporting planned and reactive works.
As an Electrician within our Engineered Solutions (Site Services) team, you’ll deliver planned and reactive site work, including safe isolation, installation, removal, commissioning and testing of rotating equipment and other three‑phase electrical apparatus. You’ll coordinate small, mixed‑trade teams on site and work closely with our office team and electrical supervision to ensure safe, high‑quality delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Safely isolate, remove, install and maintain rotating equipment and other three‑phase equipment.
- Commission and test installed equipment, completing test sheets using Napit software.
- Coordinate electrical and mixed trades on site, ensuring safe working and effective job delivery.
- Diagnose faults and provide job reports and condition findings, identifying the correct method of repair.
- Identify opportunities for follow‑on work based on current scopes and site condition.
- Coordinate site activities through close cooperation with the office team and Electrical Supervisor.
- Scope electrical tasks across a wide range of applications and equipment types.
- Troubleshoot low and medium voltage equipment to a high standard.
- Apply working knowledge of VSD drives and commission a range of electrical apparatus.
- Write technical reports and compile job documentation, supporting RAMS and the planning process with detailed technical information on tooling and materials.
- Support the work delivery programme by applying best practice and continuous improvement.
Person Specification
- Time‑served Electrician or equivalent experience within industrial/site services environments.
- Proven ability to safely isolate and work on three‑phase equipment and rotating plant.
- Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills across low and medium voltage equipment.
- Working knowledge of VSD drives and experience commissioning electrical apparatus.
- Confident coordinating small teams and mixed trades on site, working to deadlines and quality standards.
- Able to produce clear technical reports and job documentation, including RAMS and test records.
- Strong safety mindset and commitment to a One Team approach.
