The Vacancy
WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a 3D CAD/BIM Modeller to join our Technical & Design team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This role will be based in Glasgow and will benefit from hybrid working, with a blend of office, home and project-based working. You will also benefit from a 9 day working fortnight with every 2nd Friday off.
You will support the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering projects across WGM's growing UK water-sector portfolio. This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering business delivering essential infrastructure across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing
- Produce discipline-specific 3D models and associated design deliverables for multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Support projects through concept development, optioneering, detailed design and construction phases.
- Work closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, process and ICA engineers to develop coordinated and buildable design solutions.
- Attend site surveys and information-gathering activities to support design development and validate existing assets.
- Convert engineering concepts, calculations and project requirements into accurate 3D models and technical drawings.
- Support design coordination activities, model reviews and interdisciplinary collaboration across project teams.
- Identify design clashes, coordination issues and constructability challenges, supporting practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare design outputs in accordance with client requirements, project specifications and WGM quality standards.
- Contribute to BIM, digital engineering and continual improvement initiatives across the business.
- Support the development of design standards, modelling procedures and efficient digital delivery practices.
- Participate in client reviews, technical authority reviews and project design meetings as required.
What You'll Bring
- Experience producing 3D CAD models and technical drawings within an engineering, infrastructure, utilities or construction environment.
- Proficiency in Autodesk software such as Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
- Practical understanding of engineering drawings, design coordination and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, survey information and engineering requirements accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality design outputs.
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working within quality-controlled design environments and following established standards and procedures.
- Confidence identifying and resolving design clashes or coordination issues.
- Enthusiasm for digital engineering, BIM processes and continuous professional development.
Experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, engineering or construction sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
Salary And Benefits
We are offering a salary from £36,000, depending on skills and experience demonstrated for the role. Full salary banding is available on request.
