We’re looking for a Café Bar Assistant to join our Swim Club team at Watergate Bay Hotel. You'll be an excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset, with a passion for crafting coffee and mixing cocktails. Where outdoors meets indoors and beach meets hotel, our Swim Club is a space for active relaxation. Our Café Bar area offers a range of hot and cold drinks, as well as smoothies, snacks and cocktails, with one jaw-dropping ocean view.
This role is a part-time role covering team holidays and sickness and involves working within a serene and professional treatment environment. As our Café Bar Assistant you’ll:
- Welcome guests in a warm, friendly, timely and relaxed yet professional manner
- Discuss our café menu with guests, giving guidance on our offerings
- Take part in team tasting sessions to give you an authentic understanding of our menu for answering guest questions and boosting team creativity and rapport
- Ensuring all guest feedback is passed on to our Swim Club Manager
- Helping to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhering to the hotel’s health and safety policy and procedures
- Keep the area you’re responsible for clean, tidy and organised
- Take care of guests’ billing
- Give new team members a helping hand, and support their training and development
- Work together, as part of our committed, efficient and dynamic team
What we’re looking for someone who:
- Loves helping people feel their best and creating memorable guest experiences
- Is warm, welcoming and an excellent communicator
- Has barista, waiting or bar experience or time working in other people-facing roles in retail or leisure (preferred)
- Takes pride in delivering high standards with care and attention to detail
- Has an aptitude for new technology to facilitate a smooth ordering and billing process, without compromising on guest experience
- Brings professionalism, discretion and integrity to everything they do
