Through proper hospitality, active relaxation and thoughtful experiences, we create the time and space for guests and teams to feel their best. Everything we do is rooted in warmth, confidence and care — with sustainability and community firmly at our heart.

As our Bar and Waiting Assistant, you’ll show what it means to work for a hotel which goes above and beyond for our team and guests, creating memorable experiences they’ll cherish for a lifetime. You’ll be a dynamic team-player with warmth and creativity, passionate about being part of a community that promotes a work-life balance, and an advocate for our Watergate Bay Hotel brand. Welcoming and serving guests in a friendly and professional manner, you’ll also craft exquisite drinks, be central to the heart of our guest experience, and take pride in every aspect of your role as our waiter, barista, and mixologist. You’ll also be operating on a full-time, zero-hour contract.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Welcoming guests in a warm, friendly, timely and relaxed yet professional manner.
  • Working in all areas of our restaurant.
  • Preparing hot and cold drinks with flair, creativity, and consistency.
  • Continually build upon company and product knowledge and providing input on how we can continually develop and improve.
  • Partaking in team tasting sessions for an authentic understanding of our menus, providing first-hand knowledge for guest queries and boosting overall team creativity and rapport.
  • Keeping the area you’re responsible for clean, tidy and organised.
  • Taking care of guests’ billing.
  • Offering new team members a helping hand, supporting their training and development.
  • Working together as part of our committed, efficient and dynamic team.
  • Following the guidelines outlined in the team handbook and department standard operating procedures.
  • Adhering to our Health and Safety and COSHH regulations (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong customer service ethos, with a keen eye for the small details that make a meaningful impact.
  • Barista, waiting or bar experience (or time working in other people-facing roles in retail or leisure).
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
  • A real energy and passion for everything that you do with lots of enthusiasm and personality.
  • A genuine desire to provide an excellent guest experience.
  • An aptitude for using new technology to facilitate a smooth ordering and billing process, without compromising our guest experience.

We also believe the right attitude and personality matter just as much as experience. If you bring warmth, curiosity, and a genuine love for hospitality, we’ll support you with full training to help you grow and thrive with us.
