Overview
Bescot Hall is a purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art school located in Walsall, catering primarily for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as children with autism and moderate speech and learning needs. The school supports up to 72 children aged 8 to 16.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage safeguarding processes within the school.
- Daily liaison with statutory and non‑statutory agencies, parents/carers, and staff on matters of wellbeing, child protection and safeguarding.
- Provide expert support, advice and training to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Collaborate with the leadership team and report directly to the Head Teacher.
- Advocate for children’s needs and ensure safeguarding policies are fully recognised and comprehensively met.
- Support the development and implementation of safeguarding procedures across multiple Witherslack Group sites.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
- Comprehensive CPD portfolio related to safeguarding and child protection.
- Outstanding interpersonal and problem‑resolution skills.
- Genuinely empathetic approach to children, parents and staff.
- Full UK driving licence.
