Hours: Waking nights (4 on / 4 off) assuming good attendance. You’ll take care of the home and our young people through the night. Your duties will include responding promptly to emergent situations such as a young person waking up in the middle of the night dealing with trauma, illness or distress, building rapport and being a trusted presence for the young people in your care. During quieter times you will perform routine tasks such as paperwork, cleaning and laundry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and ongoing nighttime support to young people in our homes.
  • Build and maintain trustful relationships with residents.
  • Respond to medical or behavioural crises, including administering first‑aid and calling for further support when needed.
  • Conduct routine home‑maintenance tasks, including paperwork, cleaning and laundry.
  • Support residents in achieving positive future outcomes, using individualized care plans.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • Resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations.
  • Team player with a ‘can‑do’ attitude, honesty, empathy and a genuine caring attitude toward young people.
  • No prior experience required – we will support you through a 4‑week induction (the Care Academy) and we will pay for a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) if you do not already hold one.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: £29,449 - £32,496 per year.
  • Bonuses: £1,400.
  • Attendance allowance (assuming good attendance).
  • 4‑week induction training on the Care Academy.
  • Annual leave: 7 weeks.
