About the role
This role is based at Avon Park School, an independent specialist day school in Rugby that supports children with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities
- Support educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments.
- Offer individualised interventions and engagement based on clinical assessment and formulation.
- Assess young people’s mental health and recommend appropriate interventions in a personalised care plan.
- Build rapport to deliver effective counselling and provide progress feedback.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified professional or accredited counsellor eligible for membership of BACP or a similar professional body.
- Additional mental health or therapeutic intervention qualifications desirable.
- Strong knowledge of child development and ability to connect with young people.
