About the Role

As a Designated Safeguarding Lead at The Secret Garden School in Solihull, you will work closely with the Head Teacher and leadership team to ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children and young people. You will be the key liaison for statutory and non-statutory agencies, parents/carers and staff on matters of wellbeing, child protection and safeguarding.

  • Develop and oversee safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Liaise daily with agencies, parents/carers, and staff on safeguarding matters.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the school team.
  • Lead and coordinate safeguarding training and CPD for staff.
  • Maintain accurate safeguarding records and reports.
  • Act as the designated point of contact for all safeguarding incidents.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
  • Comprehensive portfolio of CPD in Safeguarding and Child Protection.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, problem-resolution and empathetic skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Relevant safeguarding experience within a SEND setting is desirable.
