Role: Pastoral Manager at Witherslack Group, with a focus on meeting our young people’s emotional needs in a SEND environment.
Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in enabling your team to meet our young people’s emotional needs.
- Work with families and develop programs for each individual young person.
- Apply high standards of care to support young people with challenging complex emotional and behavioural needs (e.g., ASC/SEMH).
- Create a positive learning environment where every young person can thrive through careful assessment and planning.
- Provide pastoral care, understand development needs, and lead in supporting young people in a school or care setting.
- Inspire and motivate young people; manage a team with flexibility and strong organizational skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with ASC, ADHD or SEMH pupils, and with working with families in challenging circumstances; ability to support and resolve difficulties.
- Experience of multi-agency work with an understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation, policies and guidance.
- NVQ 3 in Care or Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
- Ideally – Leadership related qualification.
- Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) experience.
- Experience of staff appraisal/performance management and supervision.
