Role Overview
As a Shift Leader in our Children’s Homes you will support the day‑to‑day care of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, ensuring smooth operations, high standards, and fostering positive relationships with both young people and staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the care team to provide high‑quality support for young people.
- Ensure smooth daily operations and maintain high standards of care.
- Deputise for Team Leaders when required.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with young people, promoting their well‑being and progress.
- Mentor and inspire colleagues, offering compassionate, emotionally resilient leadership.
- Complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which is covered by the employer.
Qualifications & Requirements
- ‘Can‑do’ attitude with a strong team spirit.
- Honesty, empathy and genuine care for young people.
- Resilience to manage challenging situations.
- Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
- Do not hold a Level3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent – training will be provided.
- Will start as an RSW by completing the 4‑week Care Academy induction.

- Base salary of £30,991 – £35,400, plus up to four paid sleep‑ins per month (£80 each).
