Hours: 39 hours per week – Mon to Thu 8am to 5pm (lunch 1pm to 1.30pm daily). Friday 8am to 1pm
Our client has been manufacturing components for Aerospace customers for over 60 years.
The company has a dedicated temperature-controlled Inspection Cell which includes 2 large automated CMMs, 1 manual CMM and 1 surface/profile projector running Aberlink software.
Other kit includes Trimos height measurement gauge and a variety of manual measuring/ verification equipment.
- Job Overview
- Lead the Quality team and support inspection activities during peak periods to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure all products meet customer, AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and certification compliance.
- Manage internal audit programmes, quality documentation, non-conformances, corrective actions, and customer complaints.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote quality best practices across the business.
- Act as the primary customer contact for quality-related matters.
- Lead, develop, and engage the Quality team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Support site health and safety standards and manage the tooling calibration register.
- Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven Quality Manager experience within the aerospace industry, working to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, compliance, auditing, and continuous improvement methodologies (e. g., Lean Six Sigma).
- Experience leading internal, external, and customer audits in aerospace or engineering environments.
- Background in machining or manufacturing environments desirable.
- Strong technical understanding of quality standards, engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective people management, planning, and organisational abilities.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
