About the Role:
- Manufacture small precision components to customer specifications
- Work from detailed engineering drawings and offline programming documents
- Play a key role in maintaining production quality, accuracy, and efficiency
- Work within a fast‑paced precision machining environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls
- Manufacture small batch and medium batch precision components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Set tooling, touch off tools, and set work offsets
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets to maintain tight tolerances
- Change tools/inserts and monitor tool wear
- Download, prove out, and save CNC programs
- Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and thread gauges
- Inspect components to ensure they meet drawing specifications
- Report any quality or production issues to supervisor or inspector
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience setting and operating CNC turning machines
- Strong experience with Fanuc controls
- Experience machining small precision components
- Ability to work to tight tolerances
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience working to production targets and deadlines
- High attention to detail
- Self‑motivated and reliable
Desirable:
- Experience with live tooling and multi-axis lathes
- Experience in a precision engineering or subcontract environment
- Forklift truck training preferred
