Parker Hannifin, a global leader in precision engineering and advanced manufacturing, is looking to appoint an experienced CNC Sliding Head Team Leader / Trainer to support the continued development of their machining team at their Crewkerne facility.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Citizen Sliding Head specialist who enjoys sharing knowledge, developing machinists and driving manufacturing excellence. Whether you're looking for a permanent leadership position or are available on a contract basis, Parker Hannifin would be keen to hear from you.
The position would suit someone already based within commuting distance of Crewkerne or an individual looking to relocate to the beautiful Somerset area.
The Role
- Leading and supporting the Sliding Head machining team
- Training Setter/Operators and developing future programmers
- Providing technical guidance on Citizen Sliding Head machines
- Improving machining methods, cycle times and best practice
- Supporting process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshooting machining and production issues
- Maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
- Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Management
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with Citizen Sliding Head CNC lathes
- Strong background in setting, operating and programming Sliding Head machines
- Previous experience mentoring, supervising or training machinists
- Excellent knowledge of precision machining techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Passion for developing others and improving manufacturing performance
