Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 13:30 – 22:00, Friday: 09:00 – 16:30, 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Manual Turner with knowledge of ProtoTRAK or XYZ controls to join a well-established engineering company within the mechanical engineering and power transmission sector. This role is focused on one-off and bespoke machining, along with repair work. You will be required to work from drawings, sketches, and physical samples, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances and often within demanding deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines (ProtoTRAK / XYZ)
  • Carry out manual turning for bespoke and repair components
  • Manufacture one-off and low-volume parts
  • Perform repair and rework on existing components
  • Work from engineering drawings, sketches, and samples
  • Machine components to close tolerances and high standards
  • Select appropriate tooling and machining methods
  • Meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner and/or Manual Turner
  • Strong mechanical engineering background (light to medium engineering)
  • Experience with ProtoTRAK and/or XYZ controls
  • Proven experience carrying out repair work
  • Ability to work from drawings, sketches, and samples
  • Experience machining to tight tolerances
  • Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
