As a Contracts Manager at BTU, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple M&E / HVAC projects across the South East and London. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, you will manage projects from mobilisation through to commissioning, handover, and final accounts, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, quality, and health & safety standards. Typical contract value range is 50k – 1.5m maximum contract values exceed 1.5m but are unlikely to exceed 3m.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple M&E projects simultaneously
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, site managers, contractors, and suppliers
- Meet with clients to fully understand Employer’s Requirements, programme, and scope
- Coordinate employers’ requirements, drawings, estimates, and programmes into deliverable plans
- Contribute to workforce planning alongside the Senior Contracts Manager
- Brief internal teams, contractors, and suppliers on orders and technical submissions
- Lead project teams and work collaboratively with designers, specialist contractors, and H&S professionals
- Maintain strong client relationships and a high standard of customer service
- Manage contracts to strict programmes and agreed target margins
- Take responsibility for contract profit and loss
- Manage variations, change control, and commercial performance
- Prepare and submit interim and final accounts
Contract Management Duties
- Prepare contract mobilisation plans
- Manage the design process
- Develop Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans
- Develop Construction RAMS
- Produce and manage programmes of work
- Prepare and manage client technical submissions
- Manage drawing production and document control systems
Qualifications & Experience
- Experienced HVAC / M&E professional
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience in a similar role
- Proven track record managing M&E contracts from award to completion
- Strong knowledge of industry practices and CDM requirements
