Weymouth & Kingston Maurward College (WKMC) is a General Further Education College with two campuses – one situated on the stunning Jurassic coastline in Dorset and the other on a beautiful 18 th Century estate near the market town of Dorchester. About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Engineering to deliver outstanding learning experiences with a passion for supporting students to reach their full potential. You will have the opportunity to teach across a range of courses, helping learners develop essential skills in the following areas:

·Engineering Product Design and Manufacture

·Engineering Principles

·CNC Programming and Operation

·Computer Aided Design

·Manufacturing and Secondary Machining Techniques

·Hand-Fitting and Industrial Practices

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have:

·Proven industry experience in manufacturing/mechanical engineering, with specialisms in areas such as:

oCNC (Computer Numerical Control)

oMilling and Turning

oFabrication

·A vocational qualification at Level 3 or above in a relevant engineering discipline.

·Experience and qualifications in teaching and learning are desirable, but industry professionals with the ambition to become outstanding educators are encouraged to apply. Full teacher training can be provided for anyone who is new to teaching.

·Enthusiasm for curriculum development and a desire to contribute to a flexible and responsive department.

·Experience delivering education or training in a workshop and classroom environment.

·A strong commitment to supporting learners through study programmes and apprenticeships up to Level 3/4.

  • Salary: up to £40,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
