Role Description We are seeking an experienced QEHS Manager to lead Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety activities at our Bridgwater site. This is a key leadership role responsible for maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, supporting operational excellence, and embedding a culture where quality, safety, and environmental responsibility are everyone's priority.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with colleagues across all areas of the business, as well as customers, suppliers and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS, ISO standards and relevant legislative requirements.
- Manage internal audits and coordinate external certification and customer audits.
- Monitor product quality performance, investigate issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support environmental compliance activities and reporting requirements.
- Lead accident, incident and non-conformance investigations, identifying root causes and implementing improvements.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and reduce risk.
- Deliver QEHS training and awareness programmes across the site.
- Prepare and present QEHS KPIs and performance data to site leadership teams.
- Chair Health & Safety meetings and ensure actions are implemented.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, quality and safety throughout the organisation.
About You To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Proven experience managing Quality Management Systems within a food manufacturing, packaging or FMCG environment.
- Experience working with BRCGS and ISO standards.
- Strong track record of managing internal and external audits.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and driving positive change.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, CAPA processes and risk management techniques.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Confidence presenting information and performance data to senior stakeholders.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to compliance and risk management.
