We are seeking an outstanding, innovative and inspirational teacher and SENDCo to fulfil the key role of Deputy SENDCo at Weydon School. The Deputy SENDCo will lead the SEND Team in partnership with the Assistant Principal – Inclusion, Assistant SENDCo's, Progress Coaches (Teaching Assistants), and PA to the SENDCO's, working closely with parents, carers and a wide range of external professionals. The role is aimed at ensuring all students can access the curriculum, make excellent progress and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the SEND Team and work closely with school leadership to embed inclusive practice throughout the school.
- Collaborate with parents, carers and external professionals to support students’ learning and well‑being.
- Use data to evaluate impact, analyse outcomes and contribute to whole school improvement.
- Motivate, challenge and support staff, demonstrating calm, credible and inspiring leadership.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified SENDCo or candidate seeking to undertake the SENDCo qualification.
- Proven track record and experience in SEND, EHCP processes, and statutory frameworks.
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and knowledge of current national guidance and the White Paper “Every Child Achieving and Thriving”.
- Ability to lead change and work collaboratively across the Trust.
- Experience in using data to inform decision‑making and improve outcomes.
