About The Opportunity
We Work is seeking a Manager of International Financial Reporting based in London to be part of the EMEA and APAC statutory reporting team.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of International Financial Reporting based in London and indirectly to the Head of International Reporting based in New York.
The statutory reporting team is responsible for the financial statement preparations, audits, and filings of more than 200 statutory financial statements across 20 jurisdictions annually.
This position will oversee several projects at any given time and work cross-functionally with internal departments and external service providers to ensure We Work remains compliant with the EMEA and APAC statutory financial reporting requirements.
We are looking for a candidate with expertise in IFRS and strong people management skills who will adapt well in a rapidly changing environment.
- Own, execute, and deliver on statutory reporting requirements across multiple EMEA and APAC-based entities
- Provide direction to Accenture resources for audit support
- Oversee the execution of each project and recognise and resolve project roadblocks
- Ensure team communications with external service providers are efficient, precise, and effective
- Summarise and report on project status weekly (at a minimum) with the reporting team
- Flag new disclosure requirements, draft new disclosures, and modify outdated disclosures, with assistance of the Senior Manager of International Financial Reporting
- Review US GAAP to local GAAP statutory trial balance adjustments for accuracy and completeness
- Perform financial statement reviews, provide reports to the Senior Manager of International Reporting and Head of International Financial Reporting for review, and work to address all comments before reports are distributed to executives, directors, and communications team members
- Prepare and summarise complex audit areas such as impairment, AR reserves, lease modifications, going concern, etc. with assistance from the Senior Manager of International Financial Reporting and liaise with the technical accounting team as needed
- Negotiate service provider fees and oversee contracting logistics
- Make key decisions on a day-to-day basis to ensure continued project progression and make key decisions with the Senior Manager of International Financial Reporting
- Coordinate cross-functionally with accounting, tax, legal, treasury, finance, payroll real estate, people ops, etc.
About You
- ACA/ACCA qualified
- 5+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience either working closely with auditors or as an auditor is highly desirable
- IFRS reporting experience
- Basic knowledge of US GAAP preferred
- Experience working with multinational companies and global markets preferred
- Ability to independently oversee several projects with competing priorities at a given time
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; confident decision-making capabilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Workday and Alteryx is a plus
