Part‑time Teacher of Art (starting in September 2026) at Wetherby Pembridge, a senior school in Olympia, London. Part‑time position: one day per week, alternating 2 hours one week and 3 hours the following week.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach one GCSE Art class (5 hours per 2‑week cycle).
- Possibility to take on additional hours of technical support for the Creative Arts Department.
- Work closely with the Head of Creative Arts to develop and implement a world‑class Art curriculum.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons, coordinating with the Deputy Head (Academic) and SENDCo to support students with additional needs.
- Promote the study of Art throughout the school.
- Attend and contribute to departmental meetings.
- Contribute to super‑curricular Art provision and foster a culture of broad student engagement.
- Participate in lesson observations and work scrutiny.
- Maintain an open, proactive attitude to continuous professional development.
- Set and mark internal examinations as required.
- Maintain a tidy, organised learning environment.
- Liaise with the Head of Partnerships and Senior Leadership Team for community partnership opportunities.
- Potential extra responsibilities: coaching sports, pastoral oversight, etc.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent; minimum a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university; right to work in the UK.
- Significant experience delivering outstanding Art provision in a high‑performing school.
- Ability to teach Art to A Level.
- Resilience, drive, strength of character, sense of humour and perspective to thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
