By joining West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, you’ll play an important role in helping our Occupational Health Unit maintain an efficient and friendly department, ensuring the people who save lives are healthy and fit to do their roles.
Job Purpose
To provide fixed‑term administration support to the Occupational Health Unit for key workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- This role provides practical, project‑based administrative support to help the Occupational Health Unit run efficiently.
- You’ll support improvements to the OPAS G2 database by following guidance to tailor it to our needs, improving usability, data quality and reporting.
- You’ll also help identify other areas where administrative processes can be improved and support the implementation of those changes.
- You will play a key role in reducing backlogs of scanned and uploaded medical records.
- The role also includes providing reception cover during annual leave.
This is a proactive role where your work will directly support the quality, efficiency, and reliability of our occupational health service.
Experience in providing administrative support and working with databases, including data entry, set up, and reporting. Positive, proactive, solutions‑focused, with experience of improving administrative processes and managing small projects from start to finish. Strong communication and organisational skills, ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical for ensuring high‑quality document control, and you should be confident working independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and databases, with good literacy and numeracy gained through qualifications or work experience. Flexibility to provide admin/reception cover during annual leave.
