We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber to provide temporary cover at HMP Styal. This is an ongoing temporary assignment supporting the site while the client recruits for a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the facility and ensuring essential services remain operational during this period.
Working Hours
- 39 hours per week
- Rotating shift pattern between 07:45am – 4:45pm
- 1 in 2 weekends required (on a rota basis)
Pay Rate Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.
The Role
Working within a secure custodial environment, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across the site, ensuring all systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance
- Repairing and maintaining mains water systems
- Fault finding, repairs and replacement of plumbing equipment and assets
- Identifying and reporting life-expired equipment
- Conducting inspections, water sampling and compliance checks
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety procedures
- Supporting the wider facilities maintenance team as required
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a plumbing maintenance role
- Experience operating light plant equipment
- Legionella awareness and compliance knowledge (desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience within a commercial, industrial, facilities management or public sector environment
