We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 2 (C) Flatbed Steel Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 2 (C) flatbed lorry to deliver steel efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in driving Class 2 (C) vehicles. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and a commitment to safety. This is a multi-drop position with no handball involved and the position may be temporary, potentially ongoing for the right driver.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 (C) flatbed lorry in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver steel to various sites, ensuring timely and accurate drop-offs.
- Secure load using ratchet straps – essential.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure operational safety.
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including adherence to driving hours regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience using ratchet straps – essential.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to tipper driving and material handling.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating organisational skills and reliability.
Pay
- £16 per hour (basic) – holidays accrued.
- £21 per hour overtime after 8 hours – holidays accrued.
- £17.93 per hour – holidays included.
- £23.53 per hour overtime after 8 hours – holidays included.
