We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and coordinate construction activities on site. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a key leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage teams, subcontractors, and resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Site Management
- Oversee all on-site construction activities and coordinate labour, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure work is carried out in line with project drawings, specifications, and company procedures.
- Support the Contracts / Project Manager with pre-construction planning and project setup.
- Maintain effective communication between all stakeholders on site.
- Manage site facilities, resources, plant, and materials to ensure efficient operations.
- Lead and motivate the site team to achieve high standards of performance and workmanship.
- Health & Safety
- Maintain and update the Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, safety policies, and environmental standards.
- Review and manage risk assessments, method statements, and permit systems.
- Ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, visitors, and the public at all times.
- Participate in incident investigations and contribute to improving H&S practices.
- Project Delivery
- Monitor progress against project programmes and address delays or issues promptly.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining quality and budget targets.
- Promote a “Right First Time” culture across the site team.
- Manage communication and collaboration between subcontractors and site personnel.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of company sustainability and CSR objectives.
- Planning & Reporting
- Report regularly on project progress to the Contracts / Project Manager.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and plant to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Prepare weekly work programmes and monitor progress against targets.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, records, and reporting.
- Commercial Awareness
- Support the commercial team in managing project costs and financial performance.
- Assist in maintaining financial control of the contract and achieving project profitability.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of construction contracts and cost control.
- Essential
- NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant construction discipline.
- Proven experience in a Site Manager role within the construction sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professional responsibility.
- Comfortable using IT systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
