Our client is seeking an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join the maintenance team at HMP Manchester. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the prison estate, helping to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out decorating, joinery, and general building repairs
  • Complete planned and reactive maintenance works
  • Undertake fabric repairs and refurbishment tasks
  • Accurately assess and scope maintenance requirements
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials
  • Comply with all health and safety procedures
  • Work collaboratively with prison staff and maintenance teams
  • Participate in callout rotas where required

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a multi-trade maintenance role
  • Experience in joinery, decorating, and general repairs
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Relevant trade qualifications (desirable)
