We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to provide temporary cover at HMP Wymott. This is an ongoing temporary assignment supporting the site while the client recruits for a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will join the facilities maintenance team, helping to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the establishment.

Working Hours

  • 39 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday: 07:45 – 16:45
  • Saturday and Sunday: 07:45 – 15:45
  • 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis

Pay Rate

Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.

The Role

  • Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Fault finding and repairs across the site
  • Electrical testing and inspections in line with BS7671 regulations
  • Completing minor installation works and replacements
  • Ensuring electrical systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational
  • Following health and safety procedures, RAMS and safe systems of work
  • Supporting the wider facilities team and escorting contractors where required

Requirements

  • Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition qualification preferred (17th Edition considered)
  • Previous experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding
  • Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Ability to work independently and at height when required
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable

  • Experience with fire alarm systems
  • CCTV maintenance knowledge
