We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to provide temporary cover at HMP Wymott. This is an ongoing temporary assignment supporting the site while the client recruits for a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will join the facilities maintenance team, helping to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the establishment.
Working Hours
- 39 hours per week
- Monday to Friday: 07:45 – 16:45
- Saturday and Sunday: 07:45 – 15:45
- 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis
Pay Rate
Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience.
The Role
- Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
- Fault finding and repairs across the site
- Electrical testing and inspections in line with BS7671 regulations
- Completing minor installation works and replacements
- Ensuring electrical systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational
- Following health and safety procedures, RAMS and safe systems of work
- Supporting the wider facilities team and escorting contractors where required
Requirements
- Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition qualification preferred (17th Edition considered)
- Previous experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding
- Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Ability to work independently and at height when required
- Basic IT skills
Desirable
- Experience with fire alarm systems
- CCTV maintenance knowledge
