About the Role

My client, a highly respected leader in the security and fire safety industry, is looking for an experienced Regional Service Manager to oversee operations across the Midlands region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, driving service excellence, and ensuring the efficient delivery of security, fire, and life safety systems across a diverse client base.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager with a strong background in technical services to lead a team, maintain high standards of service delivery, and contribute to the strategic growth of the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of service engineers across the Midlands. Ensure engineers are trained, motivated, and consistently delivering exceptional service standards.
  • Oversee the day-to-day service operations, ensuring that all reactive, planned maintenance, and installation works are completed to the highest standards. Manage service levels and ensure all KPIs and SLAs are met.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for service improvements or additional services.
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of service works, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure that all service activities are carried out in full compliance with health and safety regulations and internal policies. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Manage the regional service budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and controlling costs without compromising quality. Produce regular reports for senior management.
  • Implement and drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency, quality of service, and customer satisfaction. Continuously monitor market trends and industry developments to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Provide escalation support for urgent service issues and participate in the on-call rota for emergency out-of-hours support when required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Service Manager or Regional Manager within a technical field (preferably within security, fire, or life safety systems)
  • Strong team management and leadership skills, with a track record of developing and motivating engineers
  • Excellent understanding of service delivery, performance management, and customer relationship management
  • Ability to manage budgets, costs, and resources efficiently
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., BS 5839, NSI, BAFE)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with both clients and internal teams
  • Full UK driving licence
  • IT literate with experience using service management software and MS Office suite

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Technical Certifications in security, fire, or life safety systems (e.g., City & Guilds, FIA, NSI accredited)
  • Previous experience working with CCTV, access control, fire alarms, or intruder systems
  • Experience in a similar multi-site management role, ideally in the Midlands
  • Project management qualifications (e.g., Prince2, APM) or experience managing large-scale projects
